A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.
thanks soulemama!
i know i'm a rebel this week with more than 1 photo, but i felt like they were the same moment, different angles!

*Morning Glory* Waldorf inspired Home Care Program
Spaces still available for the Morning Glory Garden!
New Waldorf/Lifeways inspired home program opening Fall 2010 in North Yarmouth.
The children will enjoy care in my home classroom much like that they would receive in your own home.
We have a magical rural setting and a classroom furnished with all natural wooden & wool toys. We believe in lots of outdoor time and encourage healthy play while providing a home like rhythm complete with nap and organic snack.
( We even hope to have our chicken coop up and running before the Winter!)
I have 8 plus years of teaching experience in the nursery and kindergarten setting and am now a stay at home mom with her very own classroom.
Accepting children ages 6 mo. to 6 years.
Available hours from 7 am to 5:30 pm Monday- Friday, with a possibility for aftercare hours for working parents!
CPR and First Aid Certified.
Please call and make plans to come by and see the lovely new space!

project weekend
some new things in the works this week...
pants & quilt for em,
crayon pouch for sarah!
the quilt for em...e got me that fabric when em wasn't even a twinkle in her mama's eye. i thought for sure i would finish it before she was born, even more sure it would be wrapped up under the tree for christmas...okay must be done by her 1st birthday--now we hope it will be done for her second birthday!
xo
a visit to the wood!
this week we had our new friends over to our woods for a visit! little s had a great time "collecting" sticks with alex for the fire pit and mama s and baby and em and i had a great time sittin gin the sun and chatting. mama s also brought over some homemade pesto and boy was it good! she also brought some of the waldorf toys she makes--pictured above. i love how colorful and joyful they are!!! we hope the next time we get together we might have time for crafting...what a dream that would be!!!

making steph's knitting pouch
for knitting of course!
while steph was here she kinda fell for this lil' peach pouch i had made & was promised to another...i swore in cleaning and organizing i had seen a second but we couldn't find it!!! so we set about making a new one just for here.
i had cut out these lil' squirrels for a previous project and had a ton left, i think they round out the bag just right.
AND i just added a few to the shop...
yes loves, i actually ADDED something to my etsy shop!
thanks again to my friend for encouraging me to do more!!!
something really exciting is happening...
any of you who know us know we have been conflicted for quite some time...about where to live that is.
our dear sweet town of belfast holds such a huge place in our hearts, but the truth is the job market just was not sustainable there.
the move was more than bittersweet- it was up nights sobbing.
but as we settled in and as alex got into the rhythm of his teaching job--summers off included!...we have decided to stick it out for a while.
a decision i thought would never escape my lips!
but the even more exciting part for me is that i have a chance to have my own in-home nursery/kindergarten program based on the lifeways waldorf training!
i am beyond excited!
1.5 years
as the fall is fast on our feet i have noticed a trend...while putting away the shoes of em's that no longer fit...
i remember one of the doctors we saw when i was very first pregnant has these bronzed shoes in his office...the plaque read:
the shoes that got me through medical school.
i thought that was brilliant.
so here we have:
the shoes that got me thru year 1.5...
well em anyway!

repurposed wool blanket
i have a love of wool. pretty much anybody who knows me could guess that...but a vintage wool blanket? heaven!
i have a great old u.s.navy one and came across this delightfully vanilla one sometime last year. i just gave it a good washing and decided it was too lovely to be put back into the linen closet...i know it's not fall yet, but i made up the couch in a new fall frock!
it's so cozy!

if mama was a shoemaker...
i would be making these for little girls all over the world...see the felt detail? see see?!!!
these arrived on my littles ones feet upon her return home courtesy of her abuelita and bird by bird.
they arrived just in time since those little feet are just about grown out of all of her others!
